Heat and Fluids II focuses on concepts of fluid flow and heat transfer, this includes transfer in one or multiple dimensions and in steady or transient modes. Concepts of heat transfer such as conduction, convections and radiations in several modes are explored. Additionally, the mechanics of viscous and non-viscous flow are detailed.
To emphasize the concepts learned in class over the semester, the final exam was the creation of a lab manual that would demonstrate a key concept. This lab was given an additional stipulation as to use only household items as this was expected to be completed during the COVID-19 epidemic. For my submission the thermal conductivity values, or the intrinsic property of a material to conduct heat, of various materials was determined and then compared to determined values in our course textbook.
