Focuses on graphical and analytical solutions to kinematic and dynamic motion problems. A focus placed on mechanical elements such as linkages, gears, cams, etc. Additionally, modeling and characteristic phenomena of one degree-of-freedom mechanical vibrations found in machines and structures are explored.
A final project is assigned to be a comprehensive review and students can decide their mechanism of student individually. Given my interest in aerospace I chose to examine landing gear from an airplane. MATLAB is used frequently to model this four-bar mechanism and is used as a tool to develop comprehensive conclusions on its dynamic response. The full range of motion render compared to a SolidWorks Model is shown below:
